Job Summary

The Assistant Staff Cook is a key member of our culinary team, responsible for assisting with cooking and providing 70-90 staff meals a day. When the Head Staff Cook is away, they oversee running the Staff Kitchen brigade and ordering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Food Preparation: Prepare scratch-made lunches and dinners daily, including vegetarian options and special dietary needs.
  • Team Management: Assist the Head Staff Cook with scheduling, ordering, and receiving product.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Ensure all daily and weekly cleaning tasks are completed and up to standards, and maintain workstations to the chef's standards.
  • Snack Bar: Provide snacks and sandwich bar for staff to eat in between meal times.
  • Effective Communication: Maintain effective working relationships and clear communication with all colleagues and departments.
Requirements
  • Culinary Experience: Three years of cooking experience, with experience in a live-in resort preferred.
  • Certifications: Current Foodsafe Certificate, Culinary Arts Levels 1, 2, or 3, and Red Seal (asset).
  • Language: Must be fluent in English, second language an asset.
  • Eligibility: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada.
