About the Position

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to work on a variety of projects, from new construction to renovation. You will have increased leadership responsibilities, providing coaching and delegating some design tasks to junior team members.

  • Design and draft mechanical HVAC and plumbing systems for new construction and renovation projects.
  • Place and size distribution systems and equipment following industry standards and company guidelines.
  • Perform load calculations using company-provided software.
  • Select mechanical equipment working directly with suppliers and manufacturers' representatives.
Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  1. Preparing schematic design, design development, and construction documents in AutoCAD or Revit.
  2. Reviewing own work for errors and omissions prior to supervisor review.
  3. Assisting with contract administration, including shop drawing review and RFI responses.
  4. Maintaining project schedules and budgets to track work progress and manpower resource utilization.
Requirements

To be considered for this position, you should have:

  • A diploma or degree in mechanical engineering (asset).
  • Professional accreditation such as CET, EIT, or P.Tech (Eng.) (strongly encouraged).
  • Experience in mechanical HVAC and plumbing design (asset).
  • A strong understanding of mechanical systems, including plumbing, HVAC, heating, cooling, air handlers, and fire protection.
