Position Overview

Shared Health is seeking a highly skilled Clinical Forensic Psychologist to join our multidisciplinary team at Selkirk Mental Health Centre. The successful candidate will provide assessment and treatment for patients found Not Criminally Responsible on account of mental disorder (NCR) and Unfit to Stand Trial who are under the jurisdiction of Manitoba's Criminal Code Review Board (CCRB).

The Forensic Psychologist will work closely with the Clinical Psychologist Site Lead and the multidisciplinary team to provide consultation, individual and group-based treatment, and clinical programming development. The position offers a competitive salary, benefits, and incentives, including an annual forensic specialist top-up, a comprehensive pension and benefits package, relocation support, professional license fee reimbursement, and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities
  • Provide assessment and treatment for patients with severe and persistent mental illness, including violence risk assessments and annual updates for CCRB disposition hearings.
  • Consult with the multidisciplinary team, inpatient staff, and provide individual and group-based treatment for mental health concerns and risk management.
  • Develop and implement clinical programming, including evidence-based psychological treatments.
  • Network professionally with forensic psychologists at other sites in the Forensic Program.
Requirements
  • Doctoral degree (PhD or PsyD) in Clinical Psychology from a CPA or APA-accredited clinical psychology training program, and completion of a CPA or APA accredited internship/residency.
  • Registered or eligible for registration as a Psychologist (C.Psych.) with the Psychological Association of Manitoba with forensic competency.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, oral and written communication skills, and inter-professional teamwork skills.
