About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Finish Carpenter to join our team at Elid Construction Inc. as a Construction Specialist. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest quality of workmanship in the construction and renovation of residential and commercial properties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work Term: Permanent
  • Work Language: English
  • Hours: 30 to 44 hours per week
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months or equivalent experience
Work Site Environment

As a Finish Carpenter, you will be working in a variety of settings, including construction sites, residential homes, and commercial buildings. You will be exposed to:

  • Confined spaces
  • Noisy environments
  • Dusty conditions
Work Setting

You will be working in a fast-paced construction environment, with a focus on delivering high-quality results. You will be part of a team that values:

Tasks
  • Read blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine work requirements
  • Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and join materials made of wood, wood substitutes, lightweight steel, and other materials
  • Fit and install windows, doors, stairs, mouldings, and hardware
  • Maintain, repair, and renovate residences and wooden structures in mills, mines, hospitals, industrial plants, and other establishments
Supervision

You will be working under the supervision of a experienced construction manager, with a team of 3-4 people.

Equipment and Machinery Experience

You will be working with a variety of hand tools, including:

  • Hand tools
Security and Safety

As a Finish Carpenter, you will be required to:

  • Be bondable
Transportation/Travel Information

Public transportation is available for your commute to and from work.

Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities

You will be required to:

  • Bend, crouch, and kneel
  • Combine sitting, standing, and walking
  • Handle heavy loads
  • Work in physically demanding conditions
  • Meet tight deadlines
  • Work with minimal supervision
Own Tools/Equipment

You will be required to provide your own:

  • Steel-toed safety boots
  • Hard hat
  • Safety glasses/goggles
