Family Support Worker

The YMCA of Northern Alberta is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Family Support Worker to join our team. As a Family Support Worker, you will work with families to provide support and guidance in creating a safe and nurturing environment for their children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruit and screen families for participation in the Family Supports program
  • Provide individual supportive counselling and advocacy to families
  • Facilitate community placements and provide feedback to participants
  • Communicate progress with the team as appropriate

Requirements:

  • University degree in a Human Services field or equivalent
  • 2 years of experience working directly with vulnerable families
  • Previous experience working with cultural groups, high needs, and marginalized populations
  • Standard First Aid and CPR certification
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention and Suicide Intervention certification preferred
  • Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle
