Job Summary
Pest Control Specialist wanted at Grimmway Farms to provide expert advice on integrated pest management practices in organic vegetable production. The successful candidate will work closely with agronomists, farm managers, and other staff members to develop and implement effective pest control strategies.

Responsibilities
As a Pest Control Specialist, you will be responsible for:
  • Inspecting crops to identify potential pest issues and developing recommendations for prevention and control.
  • Staying up-to-date with the latest research and technologies in agricultural pest control, with a focus on organic methods.
  • Participating in field trials of various pest control methods and materials.
  • Maintaining accurate records of results and observations.
  • Providing guidance and support to company pesticide applicators on equipment calibration and usage.
  • Collaborating with government agencies to ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Maintaining PCA licensure through ongoing education and training.

Requirements
To be successful as a Pest Control Specialist, you will need:
  • A Bachelor's degree in Agricultural Sciences or a related field.
  • 3-5 years of experience in field-related roles, preferably in pest control or a similar field.
  • A valid California Agricultural Pest Control Adviser License or ability to obtain one within six months of hiring date.
  • Knowledge of agricultural pest control and production practices, as well as computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with the ability to interact effectively with colleagues and management.
