Job Title: Long Haul Truck Driver

R Gill Corporation is seeking a skilled Long Haul Truck Driver to join our team. As a Long Haul Truck Driver, you will be responsible for transporting goods and materials across the country, ensuring timely delivery and maintaining a safe and secure environment on the road.

Responsibilities:
  • Drive as part of a two-person team or convoy, ensuring safe and efficient transportation of goods and materials.
  • Load and unload goods, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
  • Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks, navigating various road conditions and weather conditions.
  • Oversee the condition of the vehicle, inspecting tires, lights, brakes, cold storage, and other equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Perform pre-trip, en route, and post-trip inspections, maintaining accurate records and reporting any issues or concerns.
  • Transport and handle dangerous goods, adhering to strict safety protocols and regulations.
  • Obtain special permits and documents required for international routes, ensuring compliance with regulations and laws.
  • Communicate effectively with central dispatch, relaying information and receiving updates on cargo and route information.
  • Record cargo information, hours of service, distance traveled, and fuel consumption, maintaining accurate records and reports.
Requirements:
  • AZ class license, with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision, and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues and clients.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull heavy loads, with a strong physical presence and stamina.
  • Willingness to travel cross-border, for extended periods, and overnight, with a flexible schedule and ability to adapt to changing circumstances.
