Job Title: Line Cook

We are seeking a skilled Line Cook to join our culinary team at Chateau Nova Yellowknife. As a Line Cook, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of hospitality and food safety are demonstrated at all times.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook food to the highest standards, adhering to standardized recipes and specifications.
  • Ensure that all food products are handled, stored, prepared, and served safely in accordance with hotel and government Food Safety guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to the 'clean as you go' philosophy.
  • Assist with training fellow teammates as required and contribute to building a positive team spirit.
  • Execute monthly and/or daily specials, working closely with the Executive Chef to cross-utilize product and eliminate waste.
  • Research and have knowledge of new cooking methods and trends.
  • Report any concerns related to Maintenance, Health and Safety, Security, or Suspicious circumstances to the appropriate leader.
Requirements:
  • Cooking experience in a high-volume environment is desirable.
  • Superior quality management, organizational skills, and attention to detail are mandatory.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Maintains a positive attitude.
  • Versatile, able to work under pressure.
  • Able to work in a diverse work environment.
  • Must be able to work evening and weekend shifts.
  • Involves standing for long periods of time, walking, sitting, bending, carrying.
  • Must be legally entitled to work in Canada.
