**Job Summary**
Giant Tiger is seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Grocery Associate to join our team in Mississauga. As a key member of our retail team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional customer service, maintaining a high level of store appearance, and ensuring a seamless shopping experience for our customers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide excellent customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Operate electronic cash registers, mainline, and self-checkouts, accurately processing customer transactions and handling cash and credit transactions.
- Restock merchandise around the checkout area, maintaining a clean and organized store environment.
- Follow up on hot selling items, completing markdowns and SKU changes as needed, and maintaining planograms, labels, and signing standards.
- Perform cycle counts and ensure compliance with all policies when selling tobacco and lottery products.
- Ensure health and safety policies and guidelines are followed, and maintain a safe and secure store environment.
- Participate in visual merchandising and store displays, maintaining a visually appealing store environment.
Requirements:
- Strong customer service skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to handle a variety of tasks in a fast-paced environment and maintain a high level of productivity.
- Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions and procedures.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work with customers and colleagues in a professional manner.
Working Conditions:
The physical demands of this role include standing and/or walking for long periods, bending, twisting, and squatting, lifting and/or moving up to 18 kg (40 lbs.), and performing tasks involving firm grasping and repetitive hand motions. The ability to operate equipment, including using a ladder, is also required.
