Kidde is seeking a skilled and passionate Marketing Communications Specialist for its Residential Fire business in Canada. This is a hybrid position located in Vaughan ON.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure brand consistency by upholding brand standards in product packaging and reviewing content for relevance.
  • Collaborate with product management, trade marketing, and sales teams to execute successful New Product Introductions and promote existing product lines.
  • Contribute to media plans and activations, offering valuable insights and assistance with organic social media strategies.
  • Support local brand, communications, and sales activities by liaising with agencies and cross-functional teams for events such as trade shows.
  • Represent the brand in media interviews, including television and radio appearances.
  • Contribute to industry relations and corporate social responsibility initiatives, such as donations.
  • Utilize your copywriting skills to create, design, edit, and review communications, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to any potential reputation issues.
  • Manage clear communication and escalation processes between local and global teams.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 5+ years of experience in communications or marketing
  • Fluency in English and Canadian French
  • Ability to travel 30% within Canada and occasionally the US
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or communications
  • Experience in public speaking and media interviews
  • Strategic thinking abilities to address complex challenges
  • Ability to work independently or within a team in a dynamic corporate environment and interact professionally at all management levels
  • Proficiency in social media platforms and best practices, including Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram
  • Strong communication skills in English and Canadian French both written and verbal
  • Capable of copywriting for various formats and translating complex concepts into easily understandable language in both English and Canadian French
  • Organizational skills with attention to detail and strategic planning proficiency
  • Efficient time management with the ability to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines
  • Experience in project management, consulting, and event coordination
  • Comfort working in a matrix, multi-national organization, leading project teams and managing budgets
  • Analytical skills for data evaluation and the ability to drive engagement and advocacy
  • Agility in identifying and capitalizing on opportunities
