XTL Transport Inc. is seeking a skilled Carrier Logistics Planner to join our team at our Toronto Terminal. This role offers a great opportunity for a self-motivated individual with strong analytical and computer skills to work in a customer-centric environment.

Responsibilities

Carrier Relations

  • Develop and maintain relationships with carriers to meet or exceed our criteria and compliance standards.
  • Understand carrier networks to maximize their effectiveness.
  • Monitor and measure carrier performance and provide feedback.
  • Negotiate rates with carriers to ensure corporate margin targets are achieved.
  • Ensure carrier capacity meets customer demands.
  • Progress high-performing carriers from transactional to core status.
  • Ensure carriers are enrolled with Four Kites.
  • Vet new carriers using online tools.

Targets

  • Carrier reps must conduct at least 2 carrier exploration calls per week and update feedback in the carrier database.
  • Develop talking points to assist reps.
  • Carrier reps must visit or host 2 in-person carrier meetings per month.
  • Track weekly carrier utilization, including volume, revenue, and service levels.
  • Conduct service meetings for underperforming carriers with a service expectation of 95%.
  • Manage a minimum of loads per period, with ideal targets.
  • Partner carrier negotiation must hit minimum margin targets.

Corporate Responsibilities

  • Assist with market rate information to complete rate proposals.
  • Liaise with other team members to ensure order completion.
  • Perform all responsibilities in alignment with corporate strategic objectives.
  • Perform all responsibilities in alignment with corporate values of LEAD WITH GRACE.

Measurement Responsibilities

  • Ensure data integrity when building, managing, and completing orders.
  • Verify carrier data accuracy before completing orders.

Other Responsibilities

  • Support and replace other team members as needed.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Computer experience required (AS400, Lotus).
  • Geographical knowledge of North America.
  • Fluent communication skills.
  • Negotiating skills.
  • Bilingual (English & French) is an asset.
  • 1-2 years industry experience and/or relevant post-secondary education.
  • Eager, up for new challenges, and not willing to settle.
  • Excellent customer service skills & professional demeanor.
  • Problem-solving.
  • Initiative.

Work Environment:

  • Ability to work well under pressure and provide follow-up with strong attention to details.
  • Ability to work in a team atmosphere with minimal supervision.
