Job Summary

The Electrical Laborer is a key member of our team at RailWorks Corporation, responsible for ensuring the successful completion of day-to-day tasks by meeting or exceeding corporate and project goals for safety, quality, profitability, and schedule.

As an Electrical Laborer, you will work closely with the Signal Foreman to maintain tools and equipment in ready-for-service condition, perform periodic inspections and tests, and complete special duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by adhering to railway and PNR safe work practices and signal work procedures.
  • Perform general labor tasks as necessary, including operating equipment.
  • Work cooperatively with other maintainers on technical issues and troubleshooting.
  • Comply with railway and PNR standards and procedures.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of electrical experience.
  • Experience working in the construction industry.
  • Diploma in the electrical field an asset.
  • Experience in Signals & Communications field experience an asset.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.

Physical Requirements

  • Works outdoors at construction sites.
  • Frequently stands, walks, climbs, balances, lifts, bends, and moves objects up to 50 pounds.
  • Exposed to all weather conditions, including very hot and very cold weather.
  • Exposed to loud noise.
  • Exposed to live track/trains and high voltage.
  • Ability to work Days, Afternoons, and Nights.
  • Travel Required.
