About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Laboratory Facilitator to join our Chemistry Department at Douglas College. As a Laboratory Facilitator, you will be responsible for providing laboratory instruction, evaluation, and supervision of students in the chemistry laboratory.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide laboratory instruction and demonstration related to college chemistry courses.
- Evaluate student work and performance in relation to laboratory requirements.
- Prepare materials for use in the laboratory, subject to curricula approval of the Chemistry faculty.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
- A B.Sc. in Chemistry from a recognized post-secondary educational institution.
- Excellent working knowledge of the operation and routine maintenance of laboratory equipment and apparatus.
- Good working knowledge of safety measures related to the operation of the Chemistry laboratory, including WHMIS.
- Good working knowledge of English (written and verbal).
- A demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, work independently, establish priorities, and maintain confidentiality.
