Director Enterprise Architecture and Business Intelligence

Nova Scotia Power is seeking a seasoned professional to lead their technology architecture and business intelligence initiatives. As a key member of the Technology Senior Leadership Team, you will contribute to the overall financial, risk, resource, and issue management of the IT Department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement technology architecture and standards across the business, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives and policies.
  • Lead the creation and evolution of the Business Intelligence and Data platforms and standards, driving governance and adoption across the organization.
  • Drive successful organization change management outcomes, resulting in architecture governance adoption with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Ensure the technology architecture supports corporate objectives, policies, and standards.
  • Lead a team of technical professionals, including hiring, performance, and compensation management.
  • Contribute to overall technology risk management.
  • Support Solution and Technical Architects in developing technology requirements and systems architectures for business projects.
  • Approve system architecture deliverables in accordance with enterprise standards and methodologies.
  • Provide guidance and education to technology professionals to build alignment between business objectives and technology investment plans.
  • Stay current on emerging products and technologies to determine fit with overall enterprise objectives and architecture.
  • Maintain personal safety and that of co-workers by observing Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.

Requirements:

  • Enterprise Architect, Data Architect, or Senior Solution Architect with minimum 5 years experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding and application of modern enterprise-level business process, data, security, and technical infrastructure architecture knowledge.
  • Demonstrated capability to understand and effectively communicate technical concepts in a business environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities to develop individuals and build strong working relationships.

You will be responsible for personal safety and that of co-workers by observing and ensuring compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations.
