Cybersecurity Data Scientist Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Cybersecurity Data Scientist to join our team at Siemens Mobility. As a key member of our cybersecurity team, you will be responsible for researching and analyzing unstructured industrial data for cybersecurity applications.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze complex data sets to identify potential security threats and develop strategies to mitigate them.
  • Work closely with industry experts to understand the problem space and develop re-usable analytical playbooks.
  • Explore Generative AI models to extract, encapsulate and re-use domain expertise in industrial cybersecurity.
  • Support building proof of concept and demonstrations for potential stakeholders.
  • Document research findings and outline the next steps in data-driven cyber defense.
Requirements
  • Currently pursuing a PhD or Master's in Computer Science or Information Systems with a focus on cybersecurity.
  • Strong analytical skills, supported by a solid foundation in applied mathematics.
  • Proficient in Python, with experience working with large datasets, including data cleaning, pre-processing, and training AI models.
  • Skilled in using Jupyter Notebooks with libraries such as TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, NumPy, and Pandas.
  • Solid understanding of object-oriented programming, data structures, and algorithms.
  • Familiar with Linux, Docker, and CI/CD pipeline environments.
  • Passionate about technology, especially advancements in AI and cybersecurity.
  • Conceptual understanding of Generative AI, with hands-on experience in developing, fine-tuning, and deploying open-source models.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity concepts, controls, and challenges is a plus.
