About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Engineering and Modelling Consultant to join our team at Avanade. As a key member of our Data Engineering team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering high-quality enterprise-grade analytics solutions based on Azure technologies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conception, development, and delivery of solutions for business intelligence and data analytics using Azure technologies.
  • Constantly developing technical skills in the latest Azure data technologies, including achieving and maintaining relevant certifications.
  • Working directly with high-profile clients across various sectors to understand their requirements and present solutions to customer sponsors.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement data engineering solutions that meet business needs.
  • Developing and maintaining data models, data warehouses, and data lakes using Azure technologies.
  • Ensuring data quality, security, and governance in data engineering solutions.
Requirements
  • Experience as a Data Modeler focused on developing operational databases.
  • Strong proficiency in data modelling tools and techniques, including in-depth knowledge of Third Normal Form (3NF) principles and data normalization.
  • Familiarity with document data modelling design.
  • Experience developing data models with a relational database management system.
  • Demonstrable end-to-end experience in Data Engineering, including large-scale projects.
  • Experience working with the latest Azure technologies, including Databricks, Synapse, Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage (Gen 2), and Cosmos DB.
  • Understanding of software engineering tools and concepts, including experience in Python, Scala, or PySpark.
  • Confident communicator who can explain technical terms to non-technical audiences and mentor junior colleagues.
  • Leadership skills, including the ability to lead small development teams and manage assignments, capacity, and work.
