The Algonquin and Lakeshore Catholic District School Board seeks a dedicated Emergency Uncertified Teacher to support students in the absence of a certified teacher. As a key member of our team, you will supervise and guide students, ensuring a safe and engaging learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise and support students in the classroom
- Advance the curriculum and learning in the absence of a certified teacher
- Manage minor student discipline issues and escalate more serious matters
- Promote positive attitudes towards learning and encourage enthusiasm
- Demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, patience, and flexibility
To succeed in this role, you will possess strong communication and decision-making skills, with the ability to follow instructions and show initiative. You will also maintain strict confidentiality and privacy of student information. If you are a certified teacher in another province or internationally, awaiting certification by the Ontario College of Teachers, this is an excellent opportunity for you to apply your training and experience in the classroom.
Requirements:- Post-Secondary Education completion
- French ability and fluency
- Experience working/volunteering with children and/or adolescents, preferably in an educational setting
- Experience working/volunteering with children with differing needs and capabilities considered an asset
- Strong communication, judgement, and decision-making skills
