About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Director, Market Intelligence to join our team at Allergan. As a key member of our Marketing Analytics and Business Insights (MABI) team, you will play a critical role in supporting our US Commercial organization by providing objective, in-depth, and actionable intelligence about current and future market and competitive forces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide a commercial viewpoint of potential disruptive forces and pending market and competitive drivers, based on an in-depth understanding and analysis of healthcare dynamics, commercial, clinical, and scientific competitive information.
  • Lead market intelligence strategy within specified therapeutic area(s) to ensure franchise teams have actionable intelligence by escalating the business implications of Allergan's competitors (new & established) activities and disruptive market events/trends to near and long-term strategies.
  • Drive and execute market intelligence plan by leading the collection of market intelligence from secondary and primary sources, managing external vendors, and synthesizing and disseminating intelligence and associated implications.
  • Coordinate, plan and execute company-wide market intelligence activities at scientific conferences and consolidate and report back critical findings and implications.
  • Act as market intelligence expert, demonstrating awareness and understanding of appropriate market intelligence applications and key internal and external data/information sources.
  • Partner with MABI across the organization to incorporate clinical, medical, access, and regulatory perspectives that inform market intelligence viewpoint and implications.
  • Ensure all market intelligence activities are conducted in accordance with financial and ethical compliance guidelines.
  • Partner with Global Competitive Intelligence team to minimize overlap and optimize Allergan's market intelligence investment.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required (life science or related degree is a plus). MBA or related graduate degree is preferred. (Masters or PhD in life science discipline is a plus).
  • Minimum of 7 years' experience in the pharma, pharma consulting or biotech industry in a commercial or clinical role; with at least 5 years' experience in market intelligence.
  • Analytical reasoning abilities, intellectual curiosity, strong business acumen, and creativity in problem solving.
  • Ability to interact effectively with/present to (verbally and in writing) all levels of the organization, from Product Managers to Senior Executives.
  • Experience working in a highly matrixed environment and standing out as a successful collaborator.
  • Oncology experience required.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional and leadership teams.
  • Ability to be agile & nimble to changing business conditions, strong collaboration, and teamwork across functional groups to contribute to a productive work culture. Lead strategically and create trust and respect within the department.
  • Ability to interact effectively with/present to all levels of the organization, expertise in PowerPoint.
