The Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner is seeking a highly skilled Investigator to join their team. As an Investigator, you will play a critical role in ensuring the protection of personal information and promoting transparency in government operations.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct thorough investigations into complaints and reports of breaches of privacy, analyzing complex information and identifying contraventions of legislation.
- Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with access to information and privacy legislation.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to public bodies on data protection and information security best practices.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve issues and promote a culture of transparency and accountability.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in data protection and information security, applying this knowledge to inform investigations and policy development.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a relevant field, such as law, social sciences, or information technology.
- Minimum three years of experience interpreting and applying access to information and protection of privacy legislation.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and concise manner.
- Excellent research and writing skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports and recommendations.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong commitment to confidentiality and discretion.
