Job Title: Excavation Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Excavation Specialist to join our team at Mark It Locates Inc.

About the Role:

This is a permanent, full-time position that requires a combination of technical expertise and physical stamina. As an Excavation Specialist, you will be responsible for excavating ground to expose gas lines, maintaining records of work performed, and operating various vehicles and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Dig ground to expose gas lines and ensure underground facilities are protected
  • Keep accurate records of work performed and location and condition of equipment
  • Operate various vehicles and equipment, including sewer jet or flusher trucks
  • Conduct routine surveys of gas mains and distribution lines
  • Provide information on underground gas distribution lines
Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Class 3/3F/DF Licence (trailer truck, vehicles with more than 3 axles)
  • Valid driver's licence
  • Steel-toed safety boots
  • Ability to distinguish between colours
  • Hand-eye co-ordination
  • Combination of sitting, standing, walking, bending, crouching, kneeling
Working Conditions:

This is a fast-paced environment that requires attention to detail and accuracy. You will be working outdoors and must be able to withstand varying weather conditions.

Salary:

The estimated annual salary for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 depending on experience.
