We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Hand 310T Bus Mechanic to join our team at Voyago in Sudbury. As a key member of our Fleet Maintenance team, you will be responsible for leading a team of technicians in the inspection, diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of our fleet vehicles and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Perform lead work over fleet technicians, ensuring that all vehicles are properly maintained and repaired in a timely manner.
- Conduct inspections of vehicles to ensure compliance with all applicable Acts, regulations, and standards.
- Review crew work orders and external vendor invoices to analyze and identify repair trends or additional work that may be needed.
- Evaluate and ensure vehicle safety through preventative maintenance, in compliance with all Ministry of Transportation (MTO) and Voyago's guidelines.
- Utilize parts from inventory or order parts necessary through the Fleet Management software to make repairs.
- Complete repairs in a timely manner, ensuring that all work is done to a high standard.
- Service vehicles in accordance with corporate policies and procedures.
- Repair vehicle heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC), cooling systems, and perform radiator repair, replacement of cooling system components, water pumps, shutters, and hoses.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical and hydraulic steering systems, and perform wheel alignments.
- Accurately complete a variety of records, safety inspection reports, and other documents required to ensure that equipment is properly and cost-effectively repaired and maintained.
- Registered with the STO as 310T Truck and Coach Mechanic or dual Mechanic (preference will be given to dual licenced mechanics).
- ODP certification with A/C experience.
- Experience and working knowledge of light duty diesel repair, as well as gasoline.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills and sound organizational competencies.
- Demonstrated leadership, problem-solving, and team-building skills.
- Excellent proven customer service experience.
- Valid G class driving license.
- Safe driver with a clean driving record.
