At IBM Computing, we're seeking a skilled Backend Software Engineer to join our team of innovators. As a key member of our team, you'll be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality software products, working with a variety of technologies and programming languages.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and deploy Java/J2EE applications and Python-based solutions
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, UX Designers, Engineers, and QA to design, develop, and deploy new platform features and functionality
  • Uphold quality standards, including reliability, efficiency, security, maintainability, and usability
  • Take ownership of end-to-end delivery, from solution design to deployment
Requirements:
  • 8+ years of experience in developing, deploying, and debugging Java/J2EE applications and Python
  • 6+ years of experience with database systems, including SQL or NoSQL data stores
  • 4+ years of experience in development and design of CI/CD and other automation frameworks
  • Understanding of Agile Development principles and practices
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with cloud-native software solutions
  • Knowledge of sustainability software and its applications
