About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Electric Motor Systems Technician to join our team at Scona Electric Inc. As an Electric Motor Systems Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our electrical and mechanical equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Testing and Maintenance: Test and observe electrical and mechanical conditions of equipment to identify potential issues and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Troubleshooting and Repair: Troubleshoot and repair electric motors, transformers, switchgear, generators, and other electro-mechanical equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • On-Site Servicing and Repair: Perform on-site servicing and repair of electrical equipment to minimize downtime and ensure business continuity.
  • Quality Assurance: Test repaired motors, transformers, switchgear, or other electrical apparatus to ensure proper performance and meet industry standards.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Support the social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees by facilitating access to community resources, language training, and skills training.
  • Support for Youths: Offer on-the-job training tailored to youth to help them develop their skills and gain industry experience.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for Indigenous workers to support their career development.
  • Support for Mature Workers: Offer mentorship, coaching, and/or networking opportunities for mature workers to help them transition to new roles.
  • Support for Visible Minorities: Offer mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees to promote career advancement.
Requirements
  • Education: College/CEGEP or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field.
  • Language: Fluency in English.
  • Work Hours: 40 hours per week.
