About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Upholsterer to join our team at JS UPHOLSTERY LTD. as a key member of our furniture restoration department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Upholstery and Furniture Restoration: Replace worn-out webbing, springs, and other furniture parts to ensure our customers' furniture is restored to its original condition.
  • Design and Installation: Lay out, cut, fabricate, and install new upholstery to meet our customers' specific needs and preferences.
  • Finishing Touches: Tack, glue, or sew ornamental trim, braids, or buttons to add a professional finish to our restored furniture.
  • Furniture Repair: Repair furniture frames and refinish wood surfaces to ensure our customers' furniture is safe and functional.
  • Operational Efficiency: Operate sewing machines or sew by hand to complete tasks efficiently and effectively.
  • Attention to Detail: Garnish the bottom and the back of a seat with interwoven rattan to add a touch of elegance to our restored furniture.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
  • Work Conditions: Work in a fast-paced environment with a combination of sitting, standing, and walking.
  • Physical Capabilities: Possess strong hand-eye coordination, attention to detail, and the ability to distinguish between colors.
Requirements
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in upholstery or a related field.
  • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, with a permanent employment contract.
  • Language: Fluency in English is required.
