Job Overview
The City of Vancouver is seeking an experienced Risk Management Specialist II to support the development and implementation of risk management strategies. The successful candidate will provide expertise and advice on risk financing, insurance and loss control, working closely with the Senior Manager, Insurance, Claims and Loss Controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts risk assessments and identifies areas for improvement in the City's risk management framework.
  • Develops and implements strategies to mitigate identified risks and improve overall risk awareness.
  • Collaborates with stakeholders to implement risk-informed decision making in daily operations.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Completion of the 12th school grade.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Chartered Insurance Professional (CIP) designation required.
  • Five years experience in insurance, claims and risk as asset.

Skills and Qualities:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing to all levels within the organization.
