Cowan Insurance Group is seeking a highly skilled Financial Advisor to play a key role in our wealth management team. As a Financial Advisor, you will be responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, identifying their financial needs, and providing tailored solutions to meet those needs. You will work closely with associates in wealth management and other lines of business to deepen and broaden new and existing client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing and new clients, as well as internal and external referral sources and centers-of-influence.
  • Conduct thorough financial needs analyses to identify and recommend suitable financial solutions.
  • Proactively source new business, manage clients, and grow a solid client base.
  • Stay up-to-date with regulatory and compliance operating standards.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on investment and financial planning experience.
  • Mutual Fund License required.
  • Proficient in using financial planning software.
  • Meet all provincial licensing requirements, including continuing education requirements.
  • University Degree/College Diploma.
  • Professional Designations (e.g., CFP, CIM, CLU) or working towards.
  • Self-motivated, people-oriented individual with a passion for helping clients with their short-, mid-, and long-term financial planning needs.
  • Track record of building and growing a profitable financial advisory practice.
  • Excellent organizational, negotiation, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Self-starter with ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong working knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and CRM.
