About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Investment Analyst to join our team at IA Financial Group. As a Senior Investment Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing and monitoring North American public companies and providing investment recommendations to our portfolio managers.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a leader in covering industries belonging to various North American bond benchmark indexes (FTSE, BBG)
- Carry out fundamental analyses of North American public companies and provide investment recommendations to portfolio managers
- Integrate ESG criteria into fundamental analysis and investment decision-making processes
- Design and validate companies' financial measures, analyze their financial statements, and estimate credit risk
- Provide your assessment of the fundamentals of issuers under your responsibility and ensure that they are monitored (quarterly results, credit events, etc.)
- Monitor the credit spreads of public corporate bonds and analyze various relationships in order to help outperform Canadian and US market benchmark indexes
- Meet and discuss with managers from issuing companies and their representatives
- Attend conferences, seminars, and other events in North America to keep abreast of industry trends
- Analyze market trends and their impacts on the various industries and issuers in the portfolios
- Give recommendations on value-added credit strategies with the aim of meeting clients' needs and exceeding benchmarks
- Develop and maintain a network of securities brokers, external analysts, credit agencies, and other capital market stakeholders
- Work with a multidisciplinary team of investment, actuarial, accounting, compliance, and risk monitoring professionals to validate the strategies awaiting implementation
About You
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Senior Investment Analyst who possesses a strong understanding of fundamental analysis and has excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. You should have a Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field and be proficient in Office Suite. A CFA Charterholder or in progress is considered an asset.
