About the Role
Njoyn is seeking an experienced Data Protection Advisor to enhance our research security program. This critical role will focus on implementing and advancing our university's research security program, building capacity to help faculty and staff understand and navigate the evolving research landscape.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in open-source due diligence queries to help identify and assess potential risks to research projects and collaborations. Using a risk-based approach, you will review and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures, synthesizing and contextualizing your work to inform the preparation, submission, review, and ongoing administration of risk assessments across the research ecosystem.

You will work closely with Njoyn's research development professionals, including those in Industry and Partnership Services, Carleton's Office for Research Initiatives & Services, and Carleton International. As a trusted advisor, you will also liaise with other stakeholders across our campus, including ITS, Procurement, Data Management, and Security.

Main Responsibilities

  • Implement and advance Njoyn's research security program, building capacity to help faculty and staff understand and navigate the evolving research landscape.
  • Use open-source due diligence queries to help identify and assess potential risks to research projects and collaborations.
  • Review and recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures using a risk-based approach.
  • Collaborate with Njoyn's research development professionals and other stakeholders across our campus.
