About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter Assistant to join our team at Black Mountain Forming & Framing Ltd. As a key member of our construction team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful completion of our projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Load, Unload, and Transport Materials: Safely load, unload, and transport construction materials to and from job sites.
  • Measure and Prepare Materials: Measure the weight of materials to prepare for rigging and hoisting, ensuring accurate and efficient operations.
  • Mix, Pour, and Spread Materials: Assist in mixing, pouring, and spreading materials such as concrete and asphalt, adhering to strict quality control standards.
  • Assist in Drilling and Blasting: Assist in drilling and blasting rock on construction sites, working closely with experienced team members.
  • Assist in Framing and Building: Assist in framing houses, erecting walls, and building roofs, demonstrating attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Demolition and Maintenance: Assist in demolishing buildings and performing routine maintenance work, ensuring a safe and efficient work environment.
  • Cleanliness and Safety: Clean up chemical spills and other contaminants, and remove rubble and other debris at construction sites, prioritizing safety and environmental responsibility.
Equipment and Machinery Experience
  • Grinding Machine: Operate a grinding machine to smooth and prepare surfaces.
  • Drills: Use drills to make precise holes and cuts in various materials.
  • Forklift: Safely operate a forklift to transport heavy materials and equipment.
  • Hand Tools: Utilize hand tools to perform a variety of tasks, from measuring to cutting and assembling.
