Job Summary

The Enrolment Support Specialist plays a vital role in maintaining accurate student records and providing exceptional customer service to students, faculty, and staff at Thompson Rivers University.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enter admission applications, course registration data, and other student information into the enterprise system with high accuracy and efficiency.
  • Respond promptly to student, parent, and community enquiries via phone, email, or in-person, working collaboratively with colleagues to resolve issues.
  • Assist in creating and maintaining operating manuals and internal documentation to ensure seamless day-to-day operations.
  • Distribute departmental mail and maintain knowledge of TRU policies and procedures, particularly those related to academic matters.
  • Generate standard communications, such as acknowledgement letters, admission offers, and confirmation of enrolment, to ensure timely and effective communication.
  • Support large-scale communications for designated offices and identify potential issues with application, registration, and records information.
  • Produce various reports, including prospect, applicant, registration, and graduation reports, to inform key stakeholders.
  • Provide clerical duties for the designated office and participate in annual enrolment cycles and awareness campaigns.

Requirements:

  • Certificate in Legal Office Assistant, Medical Office Assistant, or Administrative Assistant, plus one year of experience in an educational, clinical, or legal setting.
  • Two years' related experience working in an educational, clinical, or legal setting, preferably in a post-secondary institution, including one-year experience with relational database software, Microsoft Office, and personal information management tools.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform word processing and data entry at 45 wpm, alphanumeric data entry speed of 90 net keys per minute, and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to operate related equipment, follow established procedures, accurately enter high volumes of data, recognize errors, verify, and correct data or bring errors forward for review.
  • Intermediate skills with Word and Excel, demonstrated ability to run system-generated reports, and work effectively in a team environment.

Working Conditions:

  • Sitting at a desk and computer for extended periods, long periods of customer service, and exposure to perfumes and other scent-related products on a regular basis.

Salary Range:

$62,000 - $72,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience.
