About the Role
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Category Analyst to join our team at PET VALU. As a Category Analyst, you will play a critical role in providing analysis and support for the introduction of new products and reviews, as well as assisting in the administration of marketing/promotional activities and preparing store communications.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all aspects of new item setup and item maintenance, including vendor data, life cycle, and listing types.
- Generate and analyze data concerning item performance and provide recommendations to management and vendors.
- Collaborate with Marketing to execute marketing/promotional activities, such as promotional schedules, samples, and vendor support agreements.
- Assist in the evaluation of cost changes and review of cost change templates.
- Coordinate pricing with the Pricing Team and prepare cost change templates, promotional pricing, and clearance pricing.
- Support Inventory Management with analytics to support inventory initiatives, including new product and promotional forecasting.
- Prepare store communications for new products, promotions, sales information, and other relevant topics.
- Coordinate product samples and content for the Call-to-Action.
- Assist in the design and communication of planograms to store teams.
- Maintain image databases and complete and archive Purchase Agreements.
- Produce new product launch and product knowledge training presentations.
- Work cross-functionally with the website team to ensure correct product content, copy, and images.
- Handle vendor questions, issues, and problems as needed.
- Perform general administration and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience supporting a purchasing/buying department.
- Post-secondary education with a focus in Business/Retail or Marketing and Communications.
