We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to join our team at Southview Trucking Ltd. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repairs on our fleet of heavy trucks.
Job DescriptionThe ideal candidate will have a strong background in diesel engine repair and a proven track record of maintaining equipment to manufacturer specifications. You will be working independently and as part of a team to diagnose and repair complex issues with our trucks.
Responsibilities- Troubleshoot and inspect equipment to detect faults and malfunctions
- Diagnose faults or malfunctions using computerized and other testing equipment to determine extent of repair required
- Order parts and maintain inventory
- Adjust equipment and repair or replace defective parts
- Keep maintenance reports and documentation
To be successful in this role, you will require:
- 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in diesel engine repair
- Strong knowledge of fuel injection systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, air conditioning systems, lubrication systems, and engine control systems
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
This is a physically demanding role that requires the ability to lift up to 45 kg (100 lbs) and stand for extended periods. You will also be required to work in a dusty environment and wear protective gear as necessary.
CompensationWe offer a competitive salary of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits including free parking and opportunities for professional development.
