Program Purpose

We are implementing a Labourer Trainee Program to increase the number of women employed in our Retail Sales & Operations sites in New Brunswick. This program aims to provide opportunities for individuals to develop their skills and knowledge in the explosives industry.

Eligibility Requirements

• Good work habits and a positive attitude.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English and to communicate in writing and verbally.
• Presentation of oneself in a professional manner while working.
• Ability to pass required background screening.

Essential Functions

• Operate equipment, including hand tools, in support of the team to provide timely, safe, and quality service and product to the customer.
• Perform basic maintenance of assigned equipment to assure its reliability and safe operation.
• Read gauges and make adjustments to equipment to maintain proper performance to assure quality and accurate product delivery.
• Assist the team at the site to safely serve the customer.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain safe working conditions in the shop, magazine, while operating equipment, and while on blast sites to protect personal safety and the safety of others.
• Maintain safe working conditions at all times.
• Report all incidents and hazardous conditions to appropriate supervisors.
• Proactively support safety programs by participating in training and safety meetings.
