About the Role
We are seeking a skilled School Bus Operator to join our team at First Student. As a key member of our transportation team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe transportation of students to and from school.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate a school bus safely and efficiently, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in good working condition.
- Provide excellent customer service to students, parents, and school staff.
- Work collaboratively with other drivers and transportation staff to ensure smooth operations.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license for at least 1 year.
- Good verbal communication skills.
- At least 21 years old.
- Ability to undergo and pass a Ministry prescribed medical examination and background checks.
What We Offer
- A competitive starting wage of $20.49 per hour, depending on experience.
- No experience necessary - we provide training.
- 4 hours guaranteed per day, with additional hours available on charter routes.
- A child ride-along program for your own children.
- No nights or weekends, except for Bruce Power routes.
