Job Title: Precision Machinist

We are seeking a skilled Precision Machinist to join our team at Sherwood Electromotion Inc. As a key member of our manufacturing department, you will be responsible for operating and maintaining precision machine tools and equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and charts to ensure accurate production.
  • Repair and maintain machine tools and parts to ensure optimal performance.
  • Set up and adjust production machinery and tools to meet quality and productivity standards.
  • Fit and assemble components and machine parts to close tolerance.
  • Maintain and calibrate precision measuring instruments to ensure accurate measurements.
  • Document and report deviations from specifications and tolerances.
  • Verify dimensions of parts machined using precise measuring instruments.
  • Set up and operate conventional and computer-controlled machine tools.
Requirements:
  • 5 years or more of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines.
  • Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift up to 9 kg (20 lbs).
