About the Role

We are seeking a skilled Bakery Bench Hand to join our team at Irene's Bakery Ltd. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for preparing dough, batters, and icings for a variety of baked goods.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare dough and batters according to recipes and special customer orders
  • Requisition and order materials, equipment, and supplies
  • Bake mixed dough and batters
  • Prepare special orders, including decorating cakes and baked goods
  • Draw up production schedules to ensure efficient workflow
  • Inspect kitchen and food service areas to maintain high standards of quality and cleanliness
  • Operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Organize and maintain inventory to prevent waste and optimize stock levels
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • Clean and sanitize kitchen areas, including work surfaces, cupboards, storage areas, appliances, and equipment
Requirements
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in a related field
  • Previous experience in a bakery or food service environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of quality
  • Ability to lift up to 25 kg and stand for long periods
