Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team at Canfor's Radium, BC Sawmill. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for ensuring the optimal performance and reliability of our heavy-duty equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Equipment Maintenance: Conduct regular maintenance checks on heavy-duty equipment, including Taylor, Kalmar, and Warehouse forklifts, IMCO Chip trailers, 966K loader, 980H loader, and 988H loader.
  • Diagnostic and Repair Services: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues to ensure optimal performance and prevent breakdowns.
  • Technical Expertise: Utilize diagnostic tools and technical manuals to pinpoint issues and develop effective repair solutions.
  • Welding and Fabrication: Use welding and fabrication skills to repair or modify equipment components.
  • Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including parts used, repairs made, and hours worked.
  • Reporting: Provide detailed reports on the condition of equipment, maintenance performed, and recommendations for future actions.
Requirements
  • Red Seal Certification
  • Experience with Hydraulics and Welding
  • Superior Troubleshooting Skills
  • Ability to Work Safely and Efficiently
  • Knowledge of Cat, Kalmar, and Taylor Equipment
