Lead Field Service Engineer

Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Lead Field Service Engineer to perform a wide range of engineering tasks and ensure proper installation, service, and commissioning of products and services. The successful candidate will provide technical support for installation and commissioning of projects and deliver maintenance, breakdown emergency support, and remote troubleshooting.
Duties and Responsibilities- Perform on-site troubleshooting activities to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolutions, and implement corrective actions
- Develop comprehensive documentation to execute work, including commissioning procedures, maintenance procedures, and daily logs
- Conduct installation and commissioning activities at customer site locations
- Work independently and lead small teams as required
- Execute on-site project management and technical leadership duties to resolve customer issues and provide customer satisfaction
- Perform a wide range of engineering tasks to ensure the technical integrity and proper installation and commissioning of company drive systems
- Develop presentations and provide training and instruction to customers on drive operations
- Coordinate additional opportunities to serve the customer with the customer service team, parts, other FSEs, repair services, sales, and product engineering teams
- Advise customers on recommended upgrades, parts, and service opportunities to improve customer productivity and sell company parts and services
- Coordinate maintenance activities for the customer and plan for inspections
- Provide support to engineering teams working on customer CMUs' projects
- Support the bidding process for the customer CMUs' projects
- Identify new opportunities and develop effective offerings to improve in-service equipment reliability and availability
- Promote sales of maintenance services
- Perform other related engineering tasks to facilitate proper commissioning and customer satisfaction
- Provide on-call support in response to customer calls for service
- Ensure timely and appropriate responses to customer requests
- Ability and willingness to travel 85% of the time on short notice
- Ability to learn and follow defined departmental policies, procedures, and practices
- Ability to prioritize workload and organize work activities to meet business needs and department goals
- Perform work on-board vessels within Company/Customer safety guidelines either in shipyards or offshore
- Extended hours/overtime may be required during peak periods and emergency circumstances
- Domestic or overseas travel to customer sites for extended periods
- Must be physically fit to board vessels offshore
- Must be able to pass a HUET and offshore survival course, which includes activities in a swimming pool
- The work environment at onsite locations is construction-type settings, with occasional exposure to wet/humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, heat, electrical shock, risk of trips, slips, and falls. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be required.
