Key Responsibilities
  • Clean and Prepare Meats: Clean meats to prepare for processing or cutting, and ensure they are presented in a visually appealing manner.
  • Cut and Trim Meats: Cut, trim, and prepare standard cuts of meat, as well as cut poultry into parts.
  • Wrap and Package Meats: Wrap and package prepared meats for sale, ensuring they are properly labeled and stored.
  • Remove Bones and Weigh Meats: Remove bones from meat and weigh meats for sale, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Price and Sell Meats: Price meat products and sell them to customers, providing excellent customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience.
  • Supervise and Train: Supervise other butchers, meat cutters, and fishmongers, and train them on new procedures and techniques.
  • Operate Equipment: Operate various pieces of equipment, including band saws, manual cutting utensils, power grinders, salami mixers, sausage machines, and slicing machines.
Requirements
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of experience in a butcher shop or related industry.
  • Personal Suitability: Flexibility, organized, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
