Scotiabank is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Principal Architect to lead the development of our technology strategy and architecture. As a key member of our Enterprise Architecture team, you will play a critical role in defining the technological and structural direction of our organization.

The Role

This is a unique opportunity to work closely with senior executives, business line leaders, and a diverse array of stakeholders to assess current capabilities and develop technology strategies that align with our business goals. You will be responsible for ensuring IT systems and infrastructure deliver value and drive innovation, while leading the execution of key initiatives and collaborating closely with technology teams to bring the strategy to fruition.

  • Work with senior leadership, business partners, and other technology stakeholders to develop vision, strategy, and focus areas for transformation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Assess current capabilities and develop technology strategies that align with our business goals.
  • Lead the prioritization and development of implementation roadmaps to address gaps and ensure solutions are in line with our enterprise vision.
  • Work with technology teams to understand current state gaps, future state capabilities needed, and industry landscape.
Requirements
  • 5-7 years of experience in management consulting or corporate strategy or technology/architecture leadership is preferred, including significant experience as a Project Lead or Engagement Manager.
  • Focus on technology consulting in the banking domain is an asset.
  • Prior experience and deep knowledge within the technology domain is a must (e.g., IT & Digital strategy, operating model, enterprise architecture, complex technology delivery, IT innovation).
  • Good knowledge of the specific technology challenges relevant to Banking industry with a sound understanding of current banking business trends and their implications for technology.
  • Exceptional planning and analytical skills, ability to discern research information/data and focus on the critical business issues.
  • Highly developed relationship management skills to effectively manage relationships across the Bank, partners, and external vendors.
  • Proven track record delivering innovative solutions from concept to change management.
  • Undergraduate degree in business or engineering; graduate business degree/MBA is a strong asset.
  • Excellent knowledge with MS Office including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
