Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Accountant to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our accounting department, you will be responsible for preparing and consolidating financial statements, analyzing and reconciling accounts, and managing internal control maintenance and regulatory reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Produce monthly consolidated P&L and Balance Sheet flux analysis for management purposes
  • Present analysis on financial results such as trends, performance metrics, benchmarks, etc.
  • Provide Balance Sheet account reconciliations
  • Work with business partners to ensure compliance with corporate accounting policies, procedures, and controls and provide support on special requests
  • Adhere to continuously improve the automation of the accounting and reporting process
  • Partake in various department-wide initiatives
  • Perform monthly accounting close procedures and deliverables such as journal entries, reconciliations, reports in compliance with GAAP
  • Delegate resources to Ad-hoc projects as necessary
  • Contribute to coordinating quarterly reviews and testing with internal and external auditors
Requirements
  • 2+ years of overall general accounting experience, ideally with Big 4 experience
  • Proficiency with corporate performance management (CPM) and business intelligence systems required
  • Able to manage time well
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Notable analytical, quantitative, and social skills
  • Earlier experience in public accounting is highly valued
  • BA/BS in Accounting, CPA credentials are preferred
  • Knowledge of financial reporting
  • Financial analysis experience preferred
  • Reconciliations experience desired
  • Strong familiarity with general ledger
  • Ability and willingness to meet business critical deadlines
  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
  • Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high-pressure environment
  • Observant, accurate, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Current and relevant ERP system experience
  • Deep understanding of internal controls and SOX compliance
