Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Meat Cutter Specialist to join our team in preparing and displaying high-quality meats for our customers.
Job DescriptionThis role involves the cutting and preparation of various meats (beef, pork, veal, lamb, and fowl) and fish required for our self-serve and service meat areas.
- Provide exceptional customer service and support Farm Boy's vision of offering the best fresh shopping experience.
- Show a passion for food and confidently handle customer questions or comments.
- Welcome, greet, and offer customer assistance as required, utilizing Farm Boy Service Standards.
- Cut and prepare all fresh and prepared meat for sale, ensuring adequate supplies and high-quality presentation.
- Package, stock, and rotate display counters to maintain an attractive and well-stocked display.
- Maintain clean and safe work, storage, and store areas by performing general 'housekeeping' tasks, including equipment maintenance and sanitizing.
- Comply with corporate policies, especially those related to Health and Safety, Food Safety, and equipment use.
- Perform opening and closing procedures and assist management with inventory-taking and recommending merchandise orders.
To be successful in this role, you will typically require 1 to 3 years of experience in a similar position, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Superior customer service, organizational, and interpersonal skills are essential.
- You must be able to work independently with a high standard for quality, attention to detail, and cleanliness.
- Able to communicate effectively both written and orally in a team environment.
- Flexibility is required, including working weekends, evenings, and holidays.
- Fluency in English and French is considered an asset.
The work environment may include:
- Wearing protective clothing or equipment.
- Lifting, carrying, or handling heavy objects.
- Standing and walking for extended periods during shifts.
- Working in cold environments for prolonged periods.
Salary Range: $55,000 - $70,000 per year.
