Job Summary
The Government of Canada - Western seeks a highly skilled and experienced Trucking Company Operations Manager to lead our transportation operations. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of our trucking company, ensuring the safe and efficient movement of goods across the country.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement operational strategies to improve efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Manage a team of logistics professionals, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful execution of transportation operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address operational challenges, implementing solutions to improve overall performance.
- Monitor and analyze key performance indicators (KPIs) to optimize transportation operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory agencies.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes, applying this knowledge to drive operational excellence.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience in a senior logistics or transportation management role.
- Proven track record of improving operational efficiency, productivity, and customer satisfaction.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a high-performing team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data and develop effective solutions.
Preferred Qualifications
- MS Access, MS Excel, MS Office, MS Outlook, MS PowerPoint, MS Windows, and MS Word skills.
- Experience with transportation management systems and logistics software.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and industry standards.
Work Environment
This is a fast-paced environment that requires strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
