Job Title: Contract Management Director

Reporting to the Associate Vice President, Human Resources, the Contract Management Director provides organizational leadership, professional expertise, advice, and direction related to all aspects of HR and in particular, employee and labor relations, including collective agreement administration and negotiations, recruitment, and HR operations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develops and maintains strong partnerships with College leaders to understand departmental business and operating objectives and to ensure the effective delivery of HR programs and initiatives.
  • Develops and implements Human Resource interventions to meet short and longer-term strategies.
  • Provides senior-level advice and guidance to leaders on a range of human resources, employee, and labor relations matters.
  • Ensures compliance with legislative requirements as they pertain to employee and labor relations as well as College policies.
  • Provides input into the Human Resources budget and strategic plan.
  • Contributes to the management of the department operating budget through cost-conscious decisions.
Requirements:
  • Established professional credibility as evidenced by a post-secondary degree in a related discipline, such as Human Resources, Law, or Business Administration, and a CPHR designation.
  • A minimum of ten years of progressively responsible HR/labor relations experience in a complex unionized environment, including five years in a managerial role.
  • Exceptional organization skills and ability to work independently to deliver high-quality work in a demanding environment with rapidly changing priorities.
  • Solid project management skills, including experience with developing, leading, implementing, and evaluating the effectiveness of human resources projects and procedures.
  • Comfortable with technology, including a working knowledge of MS Office products.
