Job Summary

The Electrical Technician - Traction will be responsible for performing maintenance, installation, and repair work on electrical systems, including:

  • Substations
  • Rectifier stations
  • 750-volt DC distribution networks
  • AC and DC circuit breakers
  • 12-kV and 25-kV distribution posts
  • Emergency shutdown systems
  • Cable replacement and connection for PR projects
  • Performing troubleshooting and repair work on these systems
  • Performing other related tasks as required

Key Responsibilities

  • Hold a DEC in Industrial Electronics or equivalent training in Electrodynamics
  • Hold a Class 3 driver's license
  • Meet STM's medical requirements
  • Pass a pre-employment drug screening test
  • STM considers equivalencies of studies completed outside of Quebec and Canada according to official standards
