About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our team at the IWK Health Centre. As a key member of our Provincial Preschool Autism Services team, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality, evidence-based assessment services to children and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical diagnostic assessments of children suspected of having a diagnosis of autism
  • Develop and implement individualized management plans in collaboration with families and interprofessional teams
  • Provide direct clinical services, caregiver education, and clinical consultation to families and interprofessional team members
  • Collaborate with provincial clinical leadership to reduce variations in access to autism assessment and meet standard wait time benchmarks
Requirements
  • Registration or eligibility for registration with the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP)
  • Master's or PhD degree in Clinical Psychology with relevant pediatric work experience
  • Training and experience in the use of standard autism assessment instruments, such as the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedules-2 (ADOS-2)
  • Knowledge of Autism evidence-based intervention techniques
