Electrical Engineer - Roadway Lighting and Traffic Signals

Meridia Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our team in Toronto or Halton. As an Electrical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing engineering and design services for electrical systems on various projects, including roadway lighting and traffic signals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop electrical systems for roadway lighting and traffic signals projects
  • Prepare schematic and detailed design drawings
  • Provide technical and administrative support throughout the project lifecycle
  • Conduct site visits to review existing conditions and assess conflicts
  • Complete lighting analysis using AGi32
  • Prepare contract documents, including specifications and cost estimates
  • Review shop drawings and prepare post-construction record drawings
  • Mentor junior staff and provide support in the field

Requirements:

  • Education in Civil and Electrical Engineering with a focus on roadway lighting and traffic signals
  • Minimum 5 years of design experience in the consulting industry
  • Familiarity with relevant regulatory requirements, such as TAC, ESA, IMSA, AODA, RP-8, and Ontario Traffic Manuals
  • Experience in utility coordination and conflict assessment
  • Proficiency in AGi32 and AutoCAD
  • Ability to calculate tender item quantities and prepare construction cost estimates
  • Experience with pavement marking and roadway signage plans
  • Good understanding of Ministry of Transportation of Ontario and municipal projects
  • Experience with MicroStation, Auto Turn, and SPIDAcalc is an asset
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills
