Windows System Administrator

The Windows Administrator – L2 is a key member of the Operations team at Global Relay, working closely with other Windows System Administrators, Security staff, and Cyber Security Operations Center team.
This role is responsible for managing and supporting our Windows environments, with a focus on corporate services for Exchange, Active Directory, and desktop management.
Key Responsibilities- Exchange and Active Directory Management: Administer corporate Active Directory and Microsoft Exchange environments, act as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for other internal and client-facing AD & Exchange deployments.
- Desktop Management: Develop, implement, and manage desktop management policies related to securing desktops, applying group policies, and deploying software.
- Documentation and Knowledge Sharing: Update documentation, write new procedures, and detail Exchange and Active Directory configurations.
- Incident Resolution and Analysis: Deliver timely and high-quality incident resolution and post-incident analysis focusing on root cause, prevention, and knowledge transfer.
- Proactive Support: Develop and implement strategies for providing proactive support resulting in fewer incidents, increased availability, or accelerated deployments.
- Support and Operations: Respond in a timely manner to Support and Operations cases related to Exchange, AD, or other Windows Server issues.
- Service Availability: Ensure all Windows systems operate with a high service availability.
- Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery: Ensure that the corporate services adhere to our Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery Programs.
- Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of direct experience with Exchange and at least 5 years of overall experience in IT administration and advanced computer support.
- Technology Infrastructure: Technology infrastructure design, implementation, and management including Microsoft Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, LDAP, MDT, and SCCM.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to monitor, test, and analyze system activities to ensure maximum performance, efficiency, and availability.
- Technical Knowledge: Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Exchange, including experience with mailbox server failover and cluster management.
- Windows Server: Extensive knowledge of Windows server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, DFS, DFS-R, File and Print Services, and GPO validation, management, and implementation.
- Microsoft Exchange PowerShell: Knowledge of Microsoft Exchange PowerShell commands needed to manage Exchange features, roles, mailboxes, performance, and troubleshooting.
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both verbal and written English.
- Certifications: Microsoft MCSA, A+, or MTA certification would be considered an asset.
