About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Technician Trainee, Metallurgy to join our team at Teck's Trail Operations. As a key member of our technical group, you will be responsible for assisting with laboratory and pilot-scale equipment operation, troubleshooting, and modification. Your strong analytical skills and attention to detail will be essential in providing technical data and supporting the development and improvement of operating plant processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate and maintain laboratory and pilot-scale equipment, ensuring accurate and reliable results.
  • Assist with design and construction of laboratory and pilot-scale setups, applying your knowledge of metallurgical and mineral processing principles.
  • Conduct technical investigations, including plant sampling, measurement of operating parameters, and visual observations, to support process development and improvement.
  • Provide technical data and preliminary analyses to support project development and implementation.
  • Collaborate with supervision, trades personnel, and other technical personnel to ensure effective communication and project success.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a recognized Institute of Technology or University in metallurgical, mineral processing, or chemical sciences.
  • Working knowledge of physical, chemical, and metallurgical processes, with a strong understanding of laboratory and pilot-scale equipment operation.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in computer systems, including MS Office, and experience with process data systems and metallurgical modeling software.
