Job DescriptionAs a 310T Service Technician/Diesel Mechanic, you will be responsible for performing vehicle inspections, troubleshooting, and testing to determine required or recommended repairs. You will also diagnose malfunctions and perform necessary repairs, including engine failures and mechanical and electrical systems malfunctions.
You will ensure that customer vehicles are kept clean during the repair process and contain costs by using warranty and evaluating service and parts options for repairs. You will also communicate with service advisors and dispatchers as needed and aid service writers in writing work orders and interacting with customers.
Required Skills and QualificationsTo be successful in this role, you will need a high school diploma or equivalent GED and Provincial License such as Red Seal/310T. You will also need specialized training and experience in diagnosis and troubleshooting of major components, including engines, transmissions, and differentials.
OEM training courses are preferred. You will need to maintain a clean, efficient work area and assist in keeping the shop neat and organized. You will also need to document all work performed and recommended on the repair order in accordance with standard operating procedures.
